Meet Lita

We’re thrilled to share that Czar’s Promise has been awarded a grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization, joining 119 recipients receiving a total of $1.57 million in support of senior dogs. This funding helps provide medical care, hospice support, surrender prevention, and so much more for aging dogs across the globe—and right here in our community.

Meet Lita: A Life of Love, Now Fighting for Her Own

Lita is a 12-year-young pitbull mix who has spent her life giving comfort, joy, and hope to others. As a certified therapy dog and staff volunteer for Rainbow Hospice, she’s been there during life’s most tender moments—visiting schools, libraries, memory care facilities, and comforting those at the end of life.

She has:

  • Supported over 150 foster dogs as a loving big sister
  • Participated in the Texas A&M Dog Aging Project
  • Been a smiling presence in care facilities, even during her own treatment
  • Inspired a growing community who’ve sent her bucket-list gifts and tokens of love

In April, Lita was diagnosed with B Cell Lymphoma. But thanks to this Grey Muzzle grant, she’s now receiving chemotherapy, fighting back with the same grace and courage she’s shown all her life.

And yes—she’s doing it all in her bling and tutu.

Your Support + Grey Muzzle’s Grant = Lifesaving Love

This grant allows Czar’s Promise to:

  • Fund critical cancer care for senior dogs
  • Help dogs like Lita live out their golden years with joy
  • Support end-of-life comfort and dignity

We’re incredibly grateful to Grey Muzzle and their supporters for believing in our mission.

CZAR'S PROMISE

It began as a love story; the attraction, immediate. In 2001, a small white fluffball with an infectious smile that had me at "hello", came bounding full steam ahead and into my arms; and yes, that was all it took.
