Katie Martz

Katie Martz

Katie has felt the loss and grieved deeply for countless friends and family members. Additionally, she has seen many more through the battle, and lost four dogs and her beloved horse to cancer. The frequency of hearing cancer diagnoses for her family members, friends, and companion animals became “normal.” Cancer should never become normalized. When Beth asked Katie to join Czar’s Promise, it was an honor and obvious decision that coincided with her dedication and mission. The normalcy of cancer is something Katie, and everyone else at Czar’s Promise, is passionate to combat head-on through science and fundraising.

A Wisconsin native, Katie graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has been lucky to call Madison home ever since. She is a driven life-long student of neuroscience, physiology, movement, performance, and healing; and incorporates all of them with an integrated approach to animal behavior, both human and non-human. She owns her own business helping people recover from chronic pain, increasing athletic and functional performance, and facilitating people to develop a greater quality of life. She spends her free time with her rambunctious two dogs, Inara & Leo, and enjoys taking advantage of all the adventure the Wisconsin outdoors has to offer.

CZAR'S PROMISE

It began as a love story; the attraction, immediate. In 2001, a small white fluffball with an infectious smile that had me at "hello", came bounding full steam ahead and into my arms; and yes, that was all it took.
